Can I add a city and propane delivery to my Google business name to rank?
No, unless the city and delivery words are part of the real business name used consistently. Google requires that name on the profile. It bars unnecessary additions. Put service areas and categories in their own fields. Do not add search keywords to the name just to chase rankings.

Use the name customers know
Google’s naming rules call for the name used on your storefront, website and stationery. Extra information can lead to profile suspension.
Our advice: have the owner check the company’s own materials before approving a name edit. Extra words are not proof of better rankings.
Put details in their own fields
Google has separate fields for address, service area, hours and category. Use them. The name does not need to hold all those details.
Use an accurate business category and real service areas. Describe the work clearly on your website.
Ask for changes you can check
Google explains its local ranking factors: search match, distance and how well known the business is. Better local ranking cannot be bought.
Ask the provider for a written list of profile and website fixes. Use our visibility checklist to review that work with the office.
Next step
