Why does another propane company show in Google Maps while mine does not?
Google Maps looks at the match to the search, distance and how well known your business is. Start by claiming and checking your profile. Fix missing or wrong details. Google says you cannot pay for a better local ranking. A new website alone does not settle those checks.

Check the listing first
Use the name customers know. Check the address or service area, hours and business category. Google says complete, accurate details help it match local searches.
Our advice: compare the profile with your website and the answers staff give callers. Fix wrong hours or a bad website link before buying more copy.
Know what the map measures
Google calls the search match relevance. Distance is how far the business is from the customer. Prominence is how well known it is. Links and reviews can help with prominence. Those factors do not promise a position for your company.
Ask where the search was made. A list of towns you deliver to is not the searcher’s location.
Give each problem its own check
An unclaimed profile needs claiming and verification. A missing website needs the website indexing checklist. Keep the two findings distinct so the work has a clear target.
